The list of proposed departments that could be included in such a system includes, but is not limited to: The Safe City Project consists in the integration of existing video security and surveillance systems with digital technology that provides a unified system environment over large areas for video monitoring and messaging, control and management. The basis sub-systems of the “Safe City” are: Each of the above sub-systems are based on multiple indoor/outdoor video cameras, sensors, and a hierarchy of video acquisition units, which are designed for digital data delivery to the neighborhood security center, police, security guard, or other data centers. The main concerns of video monitoring are entrances, gates, checkpoints, garbage collectors, and other places that have been marked with the “Safe City” sign. Video data is periodically delivered to the database of local police department and local security guards. The depth of the video database is adjusted according to local requirements and may be in the range from one week up to several months. In the event of a crime, the required video and other data may be delivered to the Video Central Station of the “Safe City” then distributed to federal and local police departments.
